BBK seeks students who are future pop/rock stars for this tuition free accessible Summer Program! This three-week pop/rock intensive program will culminate in a concert with a live band!
A free summer pop/rock intensive Are you ready to rock?! In partnership with the PATH Fund, (the producers of Rockers on Broadway), BBK Rocks is a three-week Pop/Rock performance intensive offered completely tuition free for students grades 7th-12th. BBK Rocks: Electric Youth will explore the music of Pop Stars including Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and Britney Spears. Inspired by Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth, our final program performance will honor her. This program has been created for students who possess a passion for Pop/Rock music, but lack access to training. Our Teaching Artist will work with students on Pop/Rock performances customized to each student’s creative aesthetic and will collaboratively create two group numbers. We will meet students where they are, aiming for each student to find growth and a sense of accomplishment at the end of the program. We will build community in our classes while working towards creating a final product, and offer a chance for our students to grow their relationships with music! In BBK Rocks, students will:
Work on pop/rock vocal technique
Create their own musical arrangements
Build self confidence and stage presence
Attend two master classes with Broadway professionals
Perform a solo and group number with a band at our BBK Rocks Concert at The Cutting Room
