Broadway Bound Players is a free performing arts program for underserved students seeking opportunities to perform and find a theatre community. Members of this exciting ensemble receive acting, voice, and dance training from professional teaching artists and take master classes with Broadway performers. They rehearse and perform a musical review that they help create. This program culminates with a performance on a professional stage.
Cost This is a pay-what-you-can program. Donations are accepted, but there is no set fee to participate. Location This program rehearses in midtown Manhattan and accepts students from New York City and neighboring areas. Audition Requirements This program requires an application, a teacher recommendation, and a virtual audition. After your application is submitted, you will receive an email with audition details. We are looking for students who are team players, love the performing arts, and have a great attitude. All students in grades 4 - 8 are welcome to apply. Preference may be given to students who do not already have Broadway Bound Kids or other performing arts programs at their schools. The Broadway Bound Workshop is a fully subsidized 8 month program. Members will explore character development through musical theatre, improvisation, monologues, and scene study. The ensemble applies these skills throughout the rehearsal process for a show presented in the Spring. The members in this program develop confidence and competence as performers and as young adults! The ensemble is also given other performing opportunities with Broadway Bound Kids, master classes with Broadway performers, and individual coaching for college auditions.
