Broadway Bound Kids believes that all students, regardless of financial barriers, should have access to high-quality, enriching arts education. That is why we provide 100% tuition free theater arts classes to Middle and High School Students. Broadway Bound Kids currently runs 3 tuition free Ensembles:

Broadway Bound Players (BBP | 4th-8th Grade)

Broadway Bound Workshop (BBW | 9th-12th grade)

Broadway Bound Academy (BBA | 9th-12th grade)

Broadway Bound Players

Broadway Bound Players ★

Broadway Bound Players (4th-8th Grade)

Broadway Bound Players is a free, year-long program for students who are underserved in the performing arts and are looking for more opportunities to perform and find a theater community. Members of this exciting ensemble receive acting, voice, and dance training from professional Teaching Artists and take master classes with Broadway performers. In the fall, they will rehearse and perform a musical revue which they help create, and in the spring they will mount a full-scale musical complete with costumes, sets, and props! This program culminates with a performance on a professional stage.

Audition Requirements (for ‘26-27 season)
These programs require an application, a teacher recommendation (or any trusted adult), and an audition. After your application is submitted, you will receive an email with audition details by September 1st, 2026. We are looking for students who are team players, love the performing arts, and have a great attitude! All students in Grades 4th-8th are welcome to apply. Preference may be given to students who do not already have Broadway Bound Kids or other performing arts programs at their schools. Commitment is a key tenant to our work together, so please check the schedule below and ensure you can commit before submitting your application.

Broadway Bound Workshop

Broadway Bound Workshop ★

Broadway Bound Workshop (9th-12th Grade)

Broadway Bound Workshop is a completely free year round program for high schoolers who are underserved in the arts. Members will explore character development through the elements of musical theater, singing, acting, and dancing. The ensemble applies these skills throughout the rehearsal process for a show presented in the Spring semester.

​Members of this program develop confidence and competence as performers and as young adults. Students are also given internship opportunities with Broadway Bound Kids, the chance to participate in master classes with Broadway performers, and individual coaching for college auditions.

BBP and BBW FAQ

  • BBP is for 4th-8th students of any experience level. BBW is for 9th-12th grade, any experience level. Students who lack access to arts programs at their schools and in their communities are prioritized. 

  • Yes! Community theater ensembles exist to create community. While acceptance to the ensembles are audition based, we are also looking for students who lack access to musical theater programs, are passionate, and are committed! Students from all levels will be welcome to apply and audition.

  • Yes! The skill building process starts in the fall. And the cast for the Spring musical is often determined by attendance, positive attitude, preparation, and commitment in the fall semester. Both semesters are integral to creating a true ensemble.

  • No! Once you are accepted into a community theatre ensemble, you are automatically admitted assuming you have followed the policies and procedures of the program.

  • Yes! Each semester of BBP/BBW culminates with students sharing their work.  In the fall, it is an open class sharing their foundational ensemble work. In the Spring it is a fully realized musical on a professional stage.

Broadway Bound Academy ★ High School Conservatory ★

Broadway Bound Academy is a series of free, audition-only classes designed for high school students passionate about pre-professional performing arts training.  Our classes are led by industry professionals and explore the fundamentals of performing arts disciplines while challenging students to reach beyond their comfort zone.  Emphasis is placed on technique, artistry, and preparing 9th-12th graders for the next step in their performing arts journey.

Broadway Bound Academy: Acting Level 1
Students in this conservatory-style acting class will develop fundamentals through the exploration of technique, text analysis, and scene study.  

Enrollment will be limited to 10 students. ​
Auditions open to NYC-based rising 9th-12th graders.

BBA FAQ

  • BBA is for high school students looking for an in-depth, conservatory-style training program.  It is perfect for students who want to study the performing arts in college, prepare for professional auditions, or just dive deeper into their training.

  • Yes! BBA is an audition-based program. There will be various degrees of experience in our classes, but BBA is designed to start all students at Level 1 to build a common framework. No matter your experience, you will be challenged and given the tools to succeed and get to the next level. 

  • There are 3 Levels for BBA classes.  Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3.  

  • BBA is intended to be a year-long program.  The curriculum spans 20 sessions over two semesters.  Students will register once before Fall Semester, and again before Spring semester.

  • Yes!  Any high school student is welcome to audition for BBA classes.  While it might mean you don’t have time to complete every Level, you will still have a valuable learning experience. 

  • BBA works in a cycle of 3 years. In the first year, they cover different acting methods and teachers, creating a foundational technique. The second year is classical theater texts, and scene work. The final year they focus on acting for tv/film, and collegiate auditions.

  • Each semester of BBA culminates with students sharing their work.  This is a great time to show family and friends the student’s amazing accomplishments!  The content of these sharings varies based on the class and what content was covered that semester.
